You can configure a vpn between 2 windows 2003 servers by configuring and
running RRAS on each server. Routing and Remote Access (RRAS) IS W2K3
implementation of a router and also allows vpn and dial up connections.
However from what you are saying it sounds like you have some 3rd party
routing software on your servers? Is that right? I suspect if you configure
RRAS on a server that has 3rd party routing software installed then you will
run in to all sorts of problems and is probably not supported. Please let me
know if i have misunderstood.

Hi James,

Thanx for replay....
no i do not have any third party s/w for Routing..
my WAN link is Microwave link which is ethernet.
two systems directly connected like LAN.
i do not want dial-up.
i just want VPN connectivity between this two system...like VPN in
between two Cisco Routers.

Regards,

Sanjay

well you can configure a vpn between the routers or between the servers them
selves using RRAS which is a component of W2K3.

Sanjay,

It really depends on what is doing the routing. If you have RRAS as your
routers, it is fairly straight forward to set up a site to site VPN on top
of the IP connection. This is well documented and you will find lots of
articles if you google site to site vpn. If you add RRAS you will get
specific Windows solutions.

If some other device (like a hardware router) is doing the routing it is
a bit more complicated, because the RRAS routers will not be the default
gateway for each LAN.
