You need a filltering proxy loot at Proximitron and Privoxy

HTTPort is for tunneling through a firwall it really has very specfic
uses but isn't for filltering web content.

Hi

I have a hardware firewall for our home network. I'm wondering if anyone
could point me to sample configurations which would give me some form of
parental protection over what's coming in and going out. i.e what
ports/protocols to block/open etc to reduce (eliminate, ideally!) the
unwanted stuff.

I've just been reading about some software (HTTPort) which re-directs output
from one port to another so it can pass through the firewall. Is there
anything you can do about this?

Thanks for any help/advice

Simon

That depends very much on the type of firewall you have and the sort of
traffic that you consider undesirable.
