I have a DSL connection and IP's change. How do I configure linux to
set IP's in its system when they change. In Windows it takes the public
IP automatically. How do I do it in linux?

The same way Windooze do! By installing and DHCP Client in your Linux box!

The network setup on your Linux variant should have some menu or tab
oriented network setup, just click on the dynamic ip box.

Which Linux do you use?

Can you rephrase the question?
If the IP address of your DSL connection changes (due to a reset or
reconnection) then it should also change in Linux. /sbin/ifconfig shows
your external IP address listed as ppp0 in most DSL connections, unless
you have a router attached, then it will be listed as eth0 and an internal
address such as 192.168.0.1 for example and that won't change if the
router picks up a new external address.

Generally, when you configure the NIC, you enable DHCP. Or are you talking
about PPPoE?

You basically install some DHCP client. At the time of installation, the
the setup should have asked if you want to enable dynamic ip addresses.

If you are using SUSE there must be a option in YAST. If you are using
Mandriva then see MCC, for Fedora see Network Config Tool.

Hope this helps.
