It's this one:
http://www.edimax.com/html/english/p.../BR-6204Wg.htm
Even the instruction manual is the same as CompUSA's, with different
screen pictures.
Interestingly, the latest firmware on CompUSA's website is 1.40 and on
Edimax's website, it's 1.37. My unit came with 1.35, so I upgraded it.
It's a RealTek chipset, RTL8186 CPU, (different from the WRT54G and 16
MB RAM and 2 MB flash - I have no idea if any third party firmware
would run on this thing) and they have the firmware sourcecode on the
Edimax website.
I ran in to buy it, once I saw that the instruction manual said that it
has QoS.
I have an WRT54G -- but I wanted to pick this up for my brother, who
uses VOIP too. So far, QoS tests haven't been working too well. I'll
have to do more testing and maybe call support. (My WRT54G with DD-WRT
QoS has no dropouts on phonecalls, with high bandwidth usage... this
one does have dropouts).
If anyone gets QoS to work well, please let me know... I use the
speedtest on
www.speakeasy.net/speedtest , as I'm talking on a VOIP
phone to another local phone in this house. The upload is the issue.
You can hear delay/break-up on the landline, when I talk into the VOIP
phone, when it's starting up the upload test.
I have no problem with the WRT54G.
Also, there's no static DHCP in the router config. So as an
alternative, you'd set an IP outside the range of the DHCP server, with
settings on the connected device itself.
Besides that, the unit seems to work well, in the few hours I've had it
up. I just want to learn all about setting up this router, before I go
bring it to my brother's house next week.
