This issue has been perplexing me for quite some time.

We use windows 2003 as our domain controler, DHCP a range of static IP's to
our office computers.

After a while, perhaps 10 days or more, some computers all of a sudden no
longer see the other computers in the network when the domain is viewed in
the network places.

Rebooting those computers does not seem to solve the problem. I have
sometimes solved the problem by releasing and renewing the DHCP IP.

Anyone know how to solve this issue?

Please contact: (E-Mail Removed)

The easiest way to troubleshoot browse related issues is to download
and run the following tool:

Description of NetBIOS Browsing Console (Browcon.exe)
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;818092

Post the output.

This is the output from the NetBIOS Browsing Console tool when a machine
cannot see anyone in the domain:

Attempting to find the PDC/Domain Master Browser for domain: CADZONEOFFICE

PDC/Domain Master Browser: not found

The domain master browser for the specified domain could not be found.

See report for details.

Open a dos prompt on the W2k3 machine and run
nbtstat -n and verify the computer is registering it's
domain name 1b unique name which identifies that
paticular machine as the DMB. Check connectivity
between the clients and W2k3 server e.g., mapped
drive by name then by tcp/ip address; if either fails
post the error.

Michael,
here is what I get from my W2k3 domain servere with nbtstat -n
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator>nbtstat

WAN:
Node IpAddress: [67.95.217.148] Scope Id: []

No names in cache

LAN:
Node IpAddress: [192.168.168.5] Scope Id: []

NetBIOS Local Name Table

Name Type Status
--------------------------------------------
BIGBOSS <00> UNIQUE Registered
CADZONEOFFICE <00> GROUP Registered
CADZONEOFFICE <1C> GROUP Registered
BIGBOSS <20> UNIQUE Registered
CADZONEOFFICE <1B> UNIQUE Registered
CADZONEOFFICE <1E> GROUP Registered
CADZONEOFFICE <1D> UNIQUE Registered
..__MSBROWSE__.<01> GROUP Registered

RAS Server (Dial In) Interface:
Node IpAddress: [192.168.168.18] Scope Id: []

NetBIOS Local Name Table

Name Type Status
--------------------------------------------
BIGBOSS <00> UNIQUE Registered
CADZONEOFFICE <00> GROUP Registered
CADZONEOFFICE <1C> GROUP Registered
BIGBOSS <20> UNIQUE Registered
CADZONEOFFICE <1B> UNIQUE Registered
CADZONEOFFICE <1E> GROUP Registered
CADZONEOFFICE <1D> UNIQUE Registered
..__MSBROWSE__.<01> GROUP Registered

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator>

On the machine that cannot see the network there is a mapped drive to the
W2k3 machine that works fine and alwayed worked fine.

Your machine is multi-homed (2 Nics) which is the
root of your issue.. There are workarounds but first
I am wondering why two NICs are being assigned
an address on the same tcp/ip subnet.
