I have had this problem before with Win98 computers and have fixed it by
deleting the networking inluding Microsoft Client Service, TCP/IP Protocols,
etc., but when I try to do this on XP, there is no way to uninstall TCP/IP.
What am I missing?

Make sure you add the DNS entries into the TCP/IP which is usually the error.
Can you at least ping the server's IP Address?
