computer goes into safe mode

I have recently got the tiscali.co.uk broad band internet
network using modem provided by tiscali- SAGEM. Ever since
my laptop keeps going into safe mode. This usually happens
while i am on the net. WHAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM?

Microsoft's Broadband Networking hardware is not supported outside North
America, Thomas. Sorry.

This sounds like a virus or a Windows issue.
