I would like to disable the computer browser service on our network on every
PC and server except the domain controllers. Everything is Windows 2003
Server with approx. 200 XP Clients. Will this cause any known problems? I
am just trying to cut down on the amount of network traffic.

Only real "problem" will occur if you have multiple subnets and users or
admins who like to use "browse network neighborhood" to access resources.

The largest complaint I hear is that applications relying on that
functionality do not work as expected (mostly Symantec AV remote install and
Trend AV remote install)

Thanks. That is what I thought no poblem then. We use TM AV and it is
installed via a group policy so it doesn't use NETBIOS. I'll disable it all
and see what happens.
