These are actually 64 bit and 128 bit.

The passphrase is hashed into a 40 bit key. Hopefully you have a way
to give the linksys a 5-byte value instead, otherwise you'll have to
get the spec for the hash. Linksys will be able to provide this.

The "missing" bits are the 802.11 header. Do a websearch for 40 bit
wep, and it will become clearer.
