Compaq Multiport 802.11b

Has anyone had success connecting a COMPAQ Multiport to a wirelss network? I
have an SMC 2404WBR router that I simply can't connect to.
Yet I can connect the laptop to this router via an Ethernet port, with full
filesharing, broadband, etc.
Any ideas?
Oh yes, I'm running XP pro on all machines.

it's the only way I connect, from an Evo 1020v notebook, using the W200
adapter. Works just great. Connects easily to my SpeedStream wireless
router, and very easily got it to work with a Linksys wireless router at
a local coffee shop

My Compaq Wireless LAN W200 adapter works great with my Linksys BEFW11S4v2
wireless router.
