Hi All,
sorry for interrupting - have been following your discussion for quite
sometime and this wireless thing just has begun in my part of the world.
ISPs here provide broadband internet only about 5km radius from the PTO.
thinking of making it more than that and make few k's of money. Any ideas
and proposal will be highly appreciated and shared.
thanks.
Rahim

..my ? What are the governmental restrictions like in your area?
The news we receive here would tend to imply that there is government
monitoring and/or censorship around certain political topics. If that
is the case, then running an internet communications service could have
you end up in difficult positions, such as being required to make
copies of user transmissions. And if that is a possibility, then your
plans now might have to include appropriate monitoring equipment,
depending on what your local regulations say.

In some countries, communications services are reserved for
the local PPT -- is a commercial service allowed where you are?

On the technical side: what is the terrain like, and what kind
of obstacles are there in the area you are thinking of servicing?
What are the building materials? What is the humidity like, and are
there many heavy rains or mists? Are there many trees around?

There's no restrictions in using the internet facilities.

Do you mean to say that I buy the IP's and resell it to people? And all
transmission thru that IP's I will be held responsible.

we have 5 ISPs operators, many resellers and more than 100 hotspots
currently and those hotspots are within that 5Km radius.

the country is lowland in the east and west with highland in the middle from
north to south. (the peninsular Malaysia)
