Hi all

With help from this group I have located operating stats for my DG834
Netgear router as follows:

DownStream Upstream
Connection Speed 6656Kbps 448Kbps
Line Attenuation 49dB 15.5 dB
Noise Margin 8dB 26dB

I have looked at the Kitz web site, but find the jargon a bit heavy!
My understanding is that the downstream noise margin is a bit low but that's
the limit of what I could glean from the site.
Can anyone comment on the figures above - good or bad please?
There doesn't seem to be a problem with the line stability, just interested
to understand more about the background.

For info, the service provider is Kingston Communications, Hull, with the
line spec being "upto" 8MBps.

TIA

Phil

They're a shade better than mine (although mine seems to be connected
at a slower speed than normal at present)

ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 6240 kbps 768 kbps
Line Attenuation 51.0 db 31.5 db
Noise Margin 7.4 db 12.0 db

What sort of speeds are you seeing ? (mine varies from about 680k/sec
to 760k/sec on average)

As for good / bad - how far away are you from the exchange ?

Do your line stats improve if you go straight into the test socket
behind the front plate of the phone socket ?
