Comcast network totaly wacked!

Can anybody figure this one out?

HUB hosed so I ran cat5 to another comter. Setup the ethX device for DHCP.

Rebooted and got IP and hostname. Everything is OK for now.

After surfing the web for about 2 hours and while listening to an
internet radio site, I suddenly could not get to any site. I tried
www.google.com and many others. All the while the internet radio was
still playing. I could even start and stop the radio stream with XMMS.

I then used ping for www.google.com and it worked fine. Now this is strange!

I can also FTP anywhere with no problem.
I can get my e-mail without a problem.

But, I still cannot connect to any site.

Tcpdump show the SYN but no SYN/ACK for any site.

Ifconfig show no problems (dropped, collisions, etc...)

Anyone have an idea about this?
Comcast cannot figure it out, so basically I am stuck for a bit.

Hmmm possible DNS issues? Are you pinging hosts with HOSTNAMES or IP addresses?
