I have an older SMC Barricade wired router with a print server.
I just bought a new DLink wireless router without print server (DI-624).

The SMC has an IP address of 192.168.2.1 and the DLink has an IP address
of 192.168.0.1.

Can they be connected to use the print server from the SMC with all
computers and can they be connected so that the wired router (SMC)
connects to the wired computer and the wireless router (DLink) to
various laptops while sharing internet access. Also can I allow one
wireless laptop (mine) access to the SMC networks computers even though
it's outside the SMC router (I'm assuming something here, of course)?
I want to use the SMC router as a firewall against the various laptops
since I may use the wireless router as a free hotspot in my condo building.
Can the IP address of a router be changed or is that in the
hardware/firmware.

Thanks,
Tim

If you can, exchange the wireless router for a wireless access point.
Connect the wired router to the WAN and connect the WAP behind that. Have
everything DHCP boot from the wired router..
