We have a 2003 server with win98 clients connecting to
it. Basic 2003 Server install and 98 basic install with
file sharing enabled. Computer will log in fine and
connect to server and each other. After a period of time
one of the 98 machines will lose network connectivity,
the other 98 machine will still see the machine but it
will give a "login" asking for password to connect to the
share. There is an event log on the server stating that
the machine has "logged off". NONE of the machines have
been touched. The only way to reconnect the machine to
the network is to restart. There is no pattern, a
different machine is effected each time. We have set up
a test bed to verify these results and are experiencing
the same problem. 2 win 98 clients and 1 2003 server.
All updated have been installed and shares have been set
with full access on both 98 machines. This problem is
holding back an Enterprise rollout of 200+ machines, any
ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Two things, is your rollout on 200+ 98 machines? Are you using logoff hours in
the user accounts?
