The problem is the both sites are using the same IP range so that the router doesn't know to route the traffic. It is better to setup home network to different IP range, for example, 192.168.211.x/24. If this is not an option, you may try peer to peer connection. These search results may help,

Hello,
can somebody please point me to the right direction for
troubleshooting? Thanks.
Here's the issue: I am using a notebook with network connection. When
travelling, I'd like to be able to connect to my home network via VPN
(PPTP to W2k server). The server is in a 192.168.1.0 network with a
router. Connecting and logging in works just fine as it did with a
previous Windows XP installation on the very same notebook. In most
networks with IPs such as 192.168.2.x or so, everything is alright.
The notebook gets its address using DHCP fine. However, on my friend's
private LAN (also 192.168.1.0) I am just able to connect and log in to
my home server, but no connection can be made other than that. I can
not route any packets through. I have already tried if checking the
default remote gateway in the VPN properties makes any difference, but
it obviously didn't.
If I were asked I'd assume that W2k cannot distinguish between the
192.168.1.1 default gateway of my friend's network and my own default
gateway which is also located at 192.168.1.1.
So my question is: Is VPN under W2k any different than it is under
Windows XP? As I said, the same configuration worked when I had
Windows XP on my laptop (which is no alternative due to its age). Or
can you offer another solution to my problem?
Thanks for any helpful suggestion you may give me.
Regards,
Christian
