In addition to Danny's suggestion, are you talking about communication
between a client and server? Is the server 2003 SP2? Is the client Vista or
Win98? What DNS servers are all the machines using?

Please provide additional configuration detail to better assist.

2° lan (internal lan ) ip 192.168.1.1 sbmsk 255.255.255.0
gtw 192.168.1.1 dns 192.168.1.1 wins 192.168.1.1

dhcp abilitated -- dns server abiliatted win proxy 6 installed and sql

Hi Ciccio,

Thanks for posting the configuration information requested.

Don;t worry, your English is not the problem, the server's configuration is
the problem.

The main problem is the server is multihomed and misconfigured for such. The
best server is a server with one NIC.

If you want to use two NICs in this server, there are a few things you need
to do.

1. ON the LAN Internet NIC, remove the external DNS. From what I see, this
is the current NIC config:
> gtw 10.0.0.1 dns 212.216.112.112-212.216.172.62

It should be set to:
> gtw 10.0.0.1 dns 192.168.1.1

2. For the internal NIC, you MUST remove the gateway address. The only NIC
with a gateway is the outside NIC.

3. Setup Forwarding in DNS. DNS properties, under the Forwarding tab, type
in: 212.216.112.112 and 212.216.172.62.

4. DNS properties, Interface tab, tell it to listen ONLY to 192.168.1.1.

5. External NIC: disable NetBIOS (IP properties, advanced, WINS tab, disable
NetBIOS)

Try that and let me know how you make out. Honestly the best way to fix this
is to disable the outside NIC and use a Linksys router or a Cisco PIX for
your gateway. Let the server be a server and you will be much happier.

Ace
