Hi,
Please could someone help me with regards to the following:
My company that I run is a 2003 domain. We have various branches and
all servers sit at HO. All clients at the various branches RDP to the
2000 TS Server. From there they are able to access various
applications and shares. However this is my problem. The users have
data on their local workstations and what has been done is the folder
that they store in for e.g. c:\Server is shared. When they RDP to the
server they are supposed to gain access to that folder by having a
mapped drive or even via UNC path. They can connect to their pc's at
the server however they are unable to view the files in the share or
even copy. This is strange because from my workstation I am able to
connect to the users machine, access the share and copy a file back to
the workstation. But not in the case of the user. The error she gets
is "the specified network name is no longer available" and sometimes
other errors. If i reduce the number of files or access another share
with nothing in it, It works. I log back to the users pc, access the
share however it still does not allow me to copy. Again this is
strange as my pc and the Server are on the same subnet behind the same
firewall with no specific configuration between the two.
To give you additional information, I enabled auditing on logon events
& object access success & faliure. I have studied the difference
between the two different accesses. Both of them fail at first because
the logon credentials it is defaulting to are incorrect. The next
credential it tries is guest and it works. This is happening from both
machines. But here is the diffence between the two:
>From the Server I get this:
Event Type: Success Audit
Event Source: Security
Event Category: Logon/Logoff
Event ID: 540
Date: 2007/06/18
Time: 02:09:08 PM

Workstation Name: TSSERVER01
Logon GUID: {00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000}
And from my workstation this is what i get:
Event Type: Success Audit
Event Source: Security
Event Category: Logon/Logoff
Event ID: 540
Date: 2007/06/18
Time: 02:15:02 PM

Workstation Name: WORKSTATION1
Logon GUID: {00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000}
Please can someone help this has become rather an urgent issue. This
isnt the only user that is experincing this problem. Anyone one who
tries this will get the same problem.
Kind Regards,
Jonathan
