I got two Nics setup on Windows 2008 Server. Server can access
Internet.

Nic1.
ip: 10.0.1.50
sub: 255.255.255.0
gateway: 10.0.1.1
DNS: 10.0.1.1

Nic2:
ip: 192.168.16.2
sub: 255.255.255.0
no gateway

Scope has been set.

Client PC can acquire ip from server like 192.168.16.3, but cannot
access Internet, nor can it ping to 10.0.1.50 or 10.0.1.1

Did I miss any configuration?

If I put setup in a Linksys router using
ip: 10.0.1.50
sub: 255.255.255.0
gateway: 10.0.1.1
DNS: 10.0.1.1
(used only 1 Nic)
& disabled DHCP on the server

The client can access Internet. However, I try to make the DHCP on
Windows 2008 server work. Please help.

Have you enabled IP routing? Or post the results of ipconfig /all and
routing table on the server.

Hello dtang888,

To prevent you from problems like this, it will be more easier to use only
one NIC with one subnet. So connect all machines to a switch and also the
router. Now you can disable DNS and DHCP on the router and use only the server
as DNS/DHCP server. Especially if the server should be a domain controller,
multihoming is not a good solution.

Best regards

Meinolf:

Thank you for your response. If I disable the DHCP from the router, ho
do I connect the Exchange Server with the IP assigned by the Server

Hello dtang888,

You have to use one ip subnet on all machines and the router, so either 192.x.x.x
or 10.x.x.x doesn't matter which one. And you use only one NIC of the server
and disable the other one.
