Hello everyone,

I'm having some trouble with a couple of Windows ME machines... the problem
is even though I have my Logon set to "Client for Microsoft Networks" set..
and the proper protocols and services installed... I always get the standard
"Windows Logon", I have uninstalled all protocols and services, restarted
and reinstalled them to no avail, is there some kind of bug in ME that can
be patched somehow to prevent this from happening, I've noticed this problem
throughout my time working on PCs and networks with ME machines, and it has
always been with Windows ME... the Client just seems to stop responding for
some reason. Thanks for any help!

I'll try this Richard, but the Windows Logon isn't really what I want
anyway.. I want Client for MS Networks to load, it's like Windows ME just
doesn't acknowledge the existance of Client anymore. Thanks for the help!

can't find one that actually matches my problem.. that's a good tip page
though, thanks for the help!

Ah ... I see now, you want to log onto the network but you DON'T want to see
the logon prompt, right?

If so, grab a copy of TweakUI for Windows 98/Me from
http://www.microsoft.com/download and use it to configure autologon.

No no.. I want to see Client for MS Networks on logon.. but it doesn't
appear, even though it's selected in the Network configuration to be the
primary logon for windows, the regular "Windows Logon" appears instead, no
matter what I do I can't get Client for Microsoft Networks to prompt first
at logon.. I've only seen this happen on Windows ME machines.. it's like
somehow the registry may have a bug that keeps Client from coming up or
something...

This is symptomatic of an incorrectly installed network card. Try
re-installing it.
