I have one domain, 38 sites. One server 2003 dc for each
site except the main site (hq) with 3 servers.

The problem is log on and the scripts running from the
wrong servers, thus not the server in the site they log on
to. Sites is set up and repl with the one dc in the hq
site. And the one server in the hq site repl with each
server in the other sites.

What do I do to force the client to log on to the server
for his site.

tried the \\%servername%\script no go?

Check which DNS server is in use and whether the sites servers hold a global
catalog role.
Run
netdiag /debug (or v(erbose)) /test:dclist
and
netdiag /debug /test:dsgetdc

Other tests syntax is available through 'netdiag /?'.

This doesn't help? All the dc are Global Gatelogs thus one
per site. So they still skip there site and run from other
sites?

Make sure that all 38 sites are mapped correctly to the
right subnets. Make sure that your DCs are associated with
the sites that reflect their subnets. If a DC was brought
on-line before its site was created in AD, it will be
placed in the Default-First-Site-Name and will need to be
moved manually. This can also happen if a DC was brought
up on one subnet, then physically moved to another.

Are your logon scripts set up on GPOs assciated with
individual sites? Not at the domain or OU level?
Remember that Domain and OU scripts will run after
scripts associated with a site and potentially overwrite
anything done with the site script(s).
