Hi,

I seee that there are a lot of junk information in my windows 2000 DNS
(Reverse lookup zone) for each subnet that I have, and IP addresses belong
to stone aged computers that never cleaned up.
1) What is the best way to cleanup and keep it clean? (rather then doing
one at a time)
2) If I clean them up, what are the risk

The reason I want to do this, is because when I do NSLOOKUP, it is giving
me an old PC name that no longer exist
Thanks

MC

Enable scavenging on the zone. Ramifications and risks? None - it will clean
up old entries. If for whatever reason it cleans up something you didn't
want to get cleaned, the record will get re-created anyway through the
Dynamic DNS update process anyway. Also if you have any manually created
entries it will not touch them.

It's the nature of clowns to bully each other a bit to establish which is dominant. This is important if they're young fish, because the more dominant of a juvenile pair will become the female (no smart remarks, there are female users in the forum!), and the less dominant will become the male.
