Come on guys....
This guy is looking for suggestions on a technical topic that a
non-techie might be able to do a good job on....
It *is* his homework; he's not asking to copy your work, just for
interesting topics.
Flames are completely out of line here....
As for suggestions, security wrt monoculture might be interesting; also
the growing rise of embedded machines that control *everything* from
trains to dams, and yet have no security built-in...
The childish efforts of some to apply security to these open/embedded
systems like the one I heard this week - neither the password nor the
hash is kept on the machine; instead the machine keeps a record of where
to find the password on the computer that is requesting access....
Basically, if you have the correct path and filename, you can substitute
*any* password and it will work. And this was from a very large
industrical electronics manufacturer....
So... There is a topic for you. Not too technical unless you get into
the details, with great social and economic impact.
