citrix remote access on broadband?

Hi,

Until recently, I used dial-up internet service. I also used a citrix
program so that I could remotely access my work emails, also through a
dial up program, which was great.

I recently upgraded to BT broaband, and have been told that cannot
connect to my work emails, unless i keep the dial-up citrix. I can't
believe that in this day and age, there is no broadband equivalent?

Is there, and how much would it cost?

Is your workplace setup for citrix over broadband? mine is works a treat..
speak to your IT department \ citrix administrator.

Ask your it department as to whether there are any plans to provide
Internet based remote access to corporate applications. IPSec based
access is quite common these days and many companies are beginning to
use SSL based remote services.

This is certainly not a limitation of Citrix.

Who told you this?
If your workplace are telling you that, then that is your only option
because they are requiring you to dial into their network in order to
access the system.
If they don't support any other access method then there's nothing you
can do.
If BT told you this then I'd ignore them and talk to whoever is
responsible for administering the Citrix system at your workplace to see
if they allow it.

This should have nothing to do with your broadband provider and would
appear to be wholly down to the policy (or budget/skills) of your IT
department.

Citrix ICA (and Microsoft RDP) traffic is designed to work over the
internet and a VPN is not required for the traffic to be encrypted. In
fact the Citrix Nfuse product has been on the market for years for
this very purpose.
