I know that this is not a forum for cisco but their site blows. I recently
screwed up and erased flash memory on a cisco switch. Now I dont know how
to install another one. What do I need to buy or is there a site that can
give me answers
thanks
Mike

Do you have a copy of the IOS image? If not, then you need to get a simple
maintenance contract for it. Then you will be able to download any IOS image
you want.

Cheers.....

You'll need an IOS image, a TFTP server application, a Cisco console
cable, and a crossover Cat5 cable. If you don't have an IOS image,
you'll need to purchase a maintenance contract (SmartNet) from Cisco in
order to get one. Once you get your IOS image, connect the cables
appropriately, fire up your TFTP server, and then boot into ROMMON on
the Cisco switch. From there TFTP the IOS image from your PC to the
switch and reconfigure as needed.

BTW, try comp.dcom.sys.cisco sometime--I've found that Usenet newsgroup
to be pretty helpful.

HTH.
