Since you have both adapters, you should also have the FCC ID numbers.

and type in the FCC ID numbers. The photos and descriptions should
give some clue as to the chipset.
I'm not sure what's in the DWL-G122, but the DWL-122 looks like this
inside:

My guess(tm) is that it's NOT the same board as the DWL-G122. There's
also some difference between the A1 and A2 mutations of the DWL-G122.
