A bit of a surprise that oftel are colluding
with service providers to artificially keep SDSL prices high
compared to rest of the world.

The www.bethere.co.uk seems to be doing 24mbit
service with an uplink speed of 1mb for 30 odd quid a month.
Thats still 1Mbit up/download link!! with 23mbit extra
milage on the downlink path.
Such a link would cost anywhere between 1000 and 2000 pounds
minimum with added fees to jack up your final fees to around
2000 pounds installation and 2000 - 4000 pounds per annum
in fees. And there is no competition in the market combined
with collusion through oftel to get a product without all
these unwanted SLAs being added and the fees hicked up
some 1000% from that 30 quid a month jobbie you could do
your own with.
