Changing line from business to residential

I am just changing my line from a business one to a residential. From a
phone point of view that is fine from BT. However I have BB from
Metronet PayGo1000 which is just the normal 50:1 contention. BT say that
I might lose BB with the change over and must inform Metronet. They say
there is nothing they can do about it and it is up to BT not to switch
it off.

I am being batted back and forth. Could someone let me know please what
I should do to maintain my connection.
