Hi all,
A friend has been asking me about changing his outgoing caller ID on a box
he has got from Orange on his broadband line. He`s not the most technical
of people, I think it`s a VOIP adaptor supplied by orange. his issue is
that his outgoing caller ID is set to an 0845 number, which a lot of his
friends don`t answer because of telesales calls etc.

Is there an easy way to change his outgoing caller ID, ideally without
spending hours on the phone to Orange? Is there a handy guide available
anywhere online - all my google searches kept coming up with an orange box
to fake caller ID on the normal phone network, which isn`t what I`m trying
to do.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Find out the OEM (sticker on the bottom of the unit? web configuration
utility?) and search their website for documentation.

Simon

Tell your friend to log into his account control panel @
www.orange.co.uk/broadband ... amongst other things such as statements
payment methods he'll see an option for Wireless Talk settings ...
click on that.

He'll be able to choose from approx 10 differrent area codes, mainly
big cities such as London, Manchester etc ...

FWIW - the first 3 changes to the STD code are free then Orange start
charging £5 per time I think.

Cheers

Jim!
