Change Password in Win98 with AD 2003

Occours a interessanting problem with my network: all Win98 workstations do
logon at AD (Win Server 2003) with no problem. But, when the password
expires and the user change it, the logon will not occour, and the message
"The domain password you supplied is not correct, or access to your logon
server has been denied." is popup. Why its occour and, most important, how
to solve that?

'ne weile her, aber ich soweit ich mich erinnere liegt das daran das W9x keinen
richtigen Domänenlogon macht und Du daher keine erinnerung bekommst das das
Passwort geändert werden muss. Anmelden am Client geht, da da das Passwort
nicht abläuft, aber die Domäne akzeptiert das dann nicht.

Wie es sich allerdings mit dem AD-clients (Lieferumfang W2k) verhält, weiss ich
nicht, müsste man mal ausprobieren.

Hello Max,

it's been a while, but IIRC thats the case because W9x does not really do a
domain logon and you won't receive a message that you'll need to change the
password. Logon at the Client works since the local password is not expireing,
but the domain will not accept it since it's been expired there.

But I'm not sure how this behavior is with the AD-Clients installed (comes with
W2k), it's worth a try I'll guess.

computer.
