hi,

when i first set up my wireless card on my laptop with Mandrake 9.2 using Ndiswrapper,
the system named it eth1: (eth0: is an onboard ethernet card) ... no problem, until i
put the laptop in it's docking station at work, that has an ethernet card connected to
our LAN.
That card also wants to be eth1: so now i have a 'conflict' ...

How can i change eth1: into wlan0: (or something) ??
Just rename the /etc/sysconfig/networking-scripts/ifcfg-eth1 to /ifcfg-wlan0 ?
Any more configs or scripts that need to be altered ? like /etc/modules.conf ...

No, the kernel will assign the interface name when the module is loaded
(or the interface is detected).

If you need to use both the second wired interface, _and_ the wireless
card at the same time, you should use DHCP, or something like whereami
to decide which interface is which.
