I have 2003 server small business edition. When I set up
this machine I set it up to me a member of a domain. No I
need to change it to be a part of a workgroup. When I try
to change it (even as administrator) it is grayed out and
I cannot select workgroup.

How do I change it. Do I need to completely reinstall the
OS?

Do you mean you made this server a DC? If so, you need to run dcpromo
again to remove Active Directory.

NO!

Sorry about that, but since this wasn't posted to the SBS 2003 newsgroup
(microsoft.public.windows.server.sbs) I knew no one else would

John - You can't remove SBS from a domain, you can't take away the fact that
it's a DC, it needs to be a DC and the top-level DC at that. While dcpromo
may work, the server will only run for 7 days if it isn't a DC

Thanks Jonathan. Quite a few postings are appearing here lately that
should be in the sbs newsgroup.

In .general and .setup as well, I guess people don't realize that there are
quite a few differences between SBS and regular Windows Server, so even
though most SBS posts _should_ go to .sbs, they don't wind up there
