How to change from DHCP to fixed IP for suse9.0?

When I install suse9.0, the installation process detected
a DHCP connection and selected it. Now I want to give it a
fixed IP address. How shoud I reconfig it?

Run yast and change the configuration of your network

In Yast2, go to Network Devices/Network Card, and hardcode the IP Address.
You'll also need to change the host name, name servers, and gateway. My
cable router reports those values, which I plugged into the screen. I have
found that fixed IP is definitely more convenient.
