Hey all,
Got a question on Certificates. Have two sites, one
with the DC (SBS2k3) and another one with Server 2003 Enterprise. Want to
create a Router-to-Router VPN using L2TP w/IPSec, not PPTP (I already know
how, want to expand my horizons

Technet says that I need to set up my CA
for a "Router (Offline Request)" template which is available. Two things.
One is that there is a difference between this template in Windows 2000
Server and Windows 2003 Server. The difference in being with 2000, the
certificate allowed exportable keys while in 2003, it does not. Now my
thinking is that I just duplicate this template, and then configure the copy
to allow exportable keys. I can do this. The problem is that when I go to
the CA and attempt to add this template to the "Certificate Templates"
folder in the CA, I am only able to add the original template, not the
template with exportable keys. The only difference I can tell between these
is the name, and that the original needs Windows 2000 CA minimum, while the
copy needs Windows 2003 Enterprise Server as a minimum. Any help as always
is much appreciated!
