I have 2 Win2k Advanced (clustered), 2 Win2k Pro, and 3 Win2k3 Standard
computers in a room.

I want to make it so that one computer stores logs (Events) from all the
other computers. Would I have to set up a Syslogd server, or is there built
in functionality for viewing (and more importantly storing) remote computer
Events without having to "Connect to another computer.." a million times in
a row?

You'll need a syslog daemon service for this.

Instead of the website you're using, I suggest to use OEx (Outlook Express
or any other newsreader), and configure a news account, pointing to
news.microsoft.com. This is a direct link to the Microsoft Public
Newsgroups. It is FREE and requires NO ISP's Usenet account. OEx allows you
to easily find, track threads, cross-post, sort by date, poster's name,
watched threads or subject.

It's easy:

Is there a prefered Syslogd server (preferably free)?

Factory tested? MVP Approved? That's a good one. Sounds like the lead intro
to a product that George Carlin would use. :-)

Kiwi is pretty good (used this a few years ago for Cisco router logs):

Upon a search, I got these:

OOps, hit send too quickly. That one I posted:
http://www.syslog.org/
Is a general site. You can get more info there. I also posted the Google
search. But honestly, I've used Kiwi before and liked that one.
