CDHR.exe trying to communicate with the outside world???

Does anyone know what CDHR.EXE is and why it keeps popping up on my system
suddenly?

This past few days its been appearing quite a lot.... Is it a virus?

According to comodo firewall the file is located in
c:/windows/system32/sys32/cdhr.exe

The problem is when I do a search for 'cdhr.exe' nothing is found. The only
file that somes up in a search is something about prefetch.

I have now restored a working disk image and the problem is gone. Wonder if
it was a dodgy file that had got onto the system? A search in google for
'cdhr.exe' reveals nothing.

Actually it finds this thread. :-) If it was a virus you'd expect it
to spread, be picked up the AV people and identified/remedied, so more
likely a custom trojan you downloaded that your AV didn't pick up. Are
you running anti-spyware software? Did you try killing the process and
removing the file and any registry references to it?
