Hi I am trying to fit a wall plate in my living room for me to use my laptop
downstairs.

I have bought the dry lining box and wall plate but am confused with wiring
explanations on the rear??

Help with wiring to this off my router please needed,

Wired as a patch lead and not cross over???

Appreciate your ideas

Many thanks

Are you using a socket at each end, or is there a plug on the other end?
I'm guessing the latter, as you say you only got one wall plate. Can
you see the coloured insulation in the plug? If so just connect the
wires to the socket so that, if you plugged the plug into the socket,
the wires would be the same colour on both plug and socket. If you
can't see the colours you'll need to check with a continuity tester as
there are at least two ways in which the wires could be arranged.
If there's nothing attached to either end of your cable just hook it up
using one of these schemes:

You shouldn't untwist the wires any more than you need to get them to
reach the connectors in the socket, and they should all be cut to the
same length.
