I have a hp server that has 2 gigabit ethernet adapter. I have connected
one of the nics to 1gb nortel switch using cat 6 cable. Why am I still
getting 100mb?

Thanks in advance

Auto-negociation is not very reliable.

Manually set the NIC(s) and the switch port(s) to 1000/Full.

What else is connected to the switch? What sort of NICs do they have?

On one server I have 2 broadcom netxtream gigabit ethernet nic cards. On
the other server, I have quad port intel 1000 MT. In both cases, when
manually setting negotiation speed, there is no option for 1000mbps full.
The highest speed I found is 100mbps full.

There is no option
