Hi, be very careful how you protect your home or loved things and ppl.
Setting up a security light could get you arrested. Like me.
I have updated the pages, 1/4 down is perhaps the weirdest arrest in
canadian history.
I'm looking at 12 years in prison, for protecting (actually failing to
protect, the light only angered the vandal) Be careful guys. Check with the
police, and i would even ask for permission in writing.

Wrong group for a start, but the pictures on the site do not clearly show
anyone doing anything. The video files don't exist either. So probably a
wind-up. Point me at the Canadian Law which specifically states it is an
offence to set up a security light, or are you confusing that with another
criminal action you might have performed?
You could have got yourself a nice computer based security camer system that
records to the hard drive, that give the advantage of time and date
stamping. The CPS (criminl protection service) in the UK will not even
accept videos as evidence without.
There are also IP based systems which will transmit a live picture over the
internet.

You mean they will if it's datestamped? I'm surprised.

That's what I'd go for, there are some nice ones that will start capture
if the scene changes and auto send the pictures to an FTP site.

I'd have thought that if the server is owned by an independant third party
and you have no access to change attributes on files (fixtouch etc) then
it would be much more likely to count in court.

Far better in a home security system to have motion detectors which can
triangulate a hostile and follow their movement, when it has been
activated.

The system should control a tracking 1000milliWatt argon laser, with
voice activated warning systems. The latter to activate a warning "go no
further" twice. Then warn a third time that the "Perp" is in mortal
danger.

If they ignore the final warning the laser takes a centre of the head,
head shot. The beauty of this system is the clean site (little DNA or
forensics), with no blood as the wound is cauterised when it happens.

Disposal should be immediate on discovery.

The power of the laser (1W) seems a tad underpowered to me.

Make sure the warning is in an obscure language so the perp definitely
goes to the bottom of the food chain!

Maybe 1000 Mega Watts (1 gigawatt) would be better. You have to bolt
on some kind of cooling system and I am not sure you could just plug
it into the mains but it would do the job nicely.

A KiloWatt should do the trick, think of it, it's compressed onto a target
of a mm^2 or so.

Only snag being that it might take the perpetrator a few seconds to
realise a hole's just been bored through their brain, and in some cases it
might miss altogether given the size of the target.

Perhaps a small mirror on a couple of servos, that way you could inscribe
something like 'fried' through the forehead. Maybe add in image
recognition and a high powered computer and you could attempt a lobotomy.

See your earlier comment about the small size of the target <g>.

Why bother with precision laser cortical surgery?

Get a multi-gigawatt laser and vape the fookers head...job done.
