Capture LPT port?

Greetings and Aloha,
I have an issue where one of my users prints from a 19th century old database
program called RBASE "something". Anyhow, she prints from this program to
a TCP/IP networked HP4000 printer that is no longer in service, well the
printer died on us the other day. I want to point her to different printer
of the same nature.

SO, my question is, how do I capture a LPT port on local machine so that
the RBASE program can print over the network to this new HP4000.

Thanks

The same way she was doing with the other printer, just change the
computername\printername to match the new printer. Typically:

Net Use LPTx: \\computername\printername /persistent:yes

The connection can be made in the logon script or by a .bat file that
you can store locally in her startup folder, or in the All Users startup
folder.
