I have a linksys single port router with the latest firmware and its hooked
to a switch. I have 2 pcs and a laptop, the pc's have static IP's the
laptop uses DHCP. My router connects (gateway mode) through my cable modem
to the internet.
The problem is that the laptop wont vpn through the router, but if i move
the cable over to the cable modem so that the laptop is directory cable to
the cable modem (and then reboot to get a IP) it vpn's just fine.
Is my router bad? or misconfigured?
Thanks
Eric

This is the basic layout (but there are individual cables from each pc to
the switch)

************* * **************** ****************
cable modem *--------*linksys befsr11 *-----* 5 port switch* --|
************* ****************** **************** |
|
|--------------------------------------------------------------|
|
|_* -- pc1 static ip 192.168.10.22
* -- laptop dhcp
* -- pc2 static ip 192.168.10.23

What type of VPN?
Some VPN's will not work through a nat box.
If you are trying to do l2tp vpn, this is likely the reason.
