I would guess that a bad video driver would not display the configuration
windows properly. I would also guess that you could have configured static
IP addresses with the proper commands in a command prompt box. Nevertheless,
fixing the evident problem no doubt also fixed other, more subtle problems
caused by a bad video driver.
