can't send mails anymore

Hello,

all of a sudden I am not able to send mails anymore (using KMail). I have an
account at gmx.de, the mail server for sending mails is mail.gmx.net Kmail
is configured as described in the how to from gmx.de (Authenticaiton, TLS,
etc.).

I can ping and traceroute this server, a telnet mail.gmx.net 25 doesn't
work. The error message of KMail doesn't say anything, just that it can't
connect the server.

Sending mails worked until recently, I think I haven't changed anything - at
least I am not aware of.

Any idea how I can troubleshoot this situation?

Thanks a lot, regards,
Jochen

$ telnet mail.gmx.net 25

Works here.

Your ISP may have started blocking outbound port 25 connections from all but
their own mail servers. If you have tcptraceroute installed then use it to
see where the failure occurs:

$ tcptraceroute mail.gmx.net 25
Tracing the path to mail.gmx.net (213.165.64.20) on TCP port 25, 30 hops max

I tried a different server with port 25, this seems to work.

jochen@tux:~> telnet mail.web.de 25
Trying 217.72.192.157...
Connected to mail.web.de.
Escape character is '^]'.
220 smtp06.web.de ESMTP WEB.DE V4.103#192 Sat, 19 Feb 2005 09:26:11 +0100

This confuses me now even more, my ISP seems not to block anything (or at
least not generally port 25), my Linux box must be okay as well since it
works for web.de. Very strange

I just downloaded it:

Version 1.4:
rpm installation works, execution give segmentation fault
source: can't compile

Version 1.5:
source can't compile

I open a new thread on how to remove the compile errors... I open this
thread on comp.os.linux.development.apps, if anyone has an idea.

Thanks,
Jochen

Okay, the error for compalation was quite easy, found it even myself as a
non-developer...

Now the output of tcptraceroute:
