I don't know Linksys routers, but look to see if there is a setting that
disables administrative access from wireless clients.
On my D-link router, I have intentionally disabled ping from the WAN side.
D-link doens't let me disable wireless client access, or I'd do that
immediately. Adminstration from the laptop is convenient, but this feature
has risks.
