Can't see one client

Two Win98 connected peer to peer using small router.
Both in same workgroup.
Desktop can see itself and laptop in network.
Laptop can only see itself.
Laptop can ping desktop successfully.
Any help appreciated.

Make sure that the desktop has at least one folder shared
otherwise you will not see it on the network
