Can't ping wireless pc

I have a Motorola router and adapter, a Desktop and Laptop, both running XP
w\SP2. I'm attempting to network them. I can get to the internet from both
PC's fine, but can't see the laptop on the network, nor access it from the
desktop, or ping it from either pc. I've run the wizard several times, both
wireless wizard and network wizard. I think the laptop is never truely set
up on the network. Looking for help adding the laptop to the network.

Extra info:
1)Trying to view the workgroup from the laptop says Mshome not accessible.
2) All 3 IP's show up in the router settings. (router,desktop,laptop)
3) Using 'Start', the 'My network places' link does not show on the desktop
under 'my computer'
4) My network folder is empty on the laptop
5) Can see the laptop from the desktop under Mshome, but can not click it.
Error says //(Laptop name) not accessible, might not have permission. Talk
to system admin
6) I'm an admin on both PC's.

Any suggestions?

dont know what i am doing wrong i have also run wizard many times with same

First thing: Don't run the Wizard multiple times if you are having problems.
Running it too many times can fill the registry with "orphaned" entries and
corrupt the TCP/IP stack.

That link didn't work William.

It seems lots of people here have this same problem, but I never hear anyone
reporting exactly what they did to resolve the problem. Anybody get through
this issue?

I too ran the wizard multiple times. I did run something to fix the
registry on the laptop, but didn't do it on the desktop. Probably should
have. I will when I find the link telling me what to run again. I'm quite
discouraged with the whole process right now. I've spent way too much time
on this already.
