Hi,

I have a win 2000 server with one network card and share some folder to
other pc.

Yesterday, I installed a VPN client but today someone told me the share
folder is not working, not sure it's VPN related. I use workgroup mode and
from that win 2000 server itself, it can ping other pc and view the network
share folder, but other pc can't ping that server and view its share folder.
It said something like ¡°network path not found¡±.

I login to my router and I can still see all my local pc in active
session(include the win 2000 server), why all in sudden, the win 2000 server
block the income traffic? Can someone help me troubleshoot this?

Thanks in advance.

It is probably caused by the fact that your server is now multihomed (ie
it has two IP addresses associated with its name), because of the VPN client
software.

This can also happen if you make a server a VPN server. The extra IP for
the VPN connection screws up the computer browser service. In that case you
need to disable Netbios over TCP/IP on the VPN interface.

Thanks Bill,
How to disable Netbios over TCP/IP on the VPN interface? Can I track where
block the ping?

I have no idea. What VPN client are you using? Do you really need to run
it on your server?
