Can't ping from server to router through hub

Hi -

I've got a Win2003 server that works fine when connected directly to my
Linksys DSL router, but when I introduce a hub in the middle, my
response when pinging the router is less than 100% and I can't
establish a connection to the other machines on the network or to the
internet. Other XP machines connected to the hub can see the router
perfectly. I've tried different ports on the router to no avail. Any
suggestions for troubleshooting would be greatly appreciated.

Are you using autosense on your NIC on this server? Try locking it down at a
specific speed/duplex setting - start with 10/half, test, and see what you
can get it to work with from there.
Note - you'd be better off investing in an Ethernet switch than a hub - even
an inexpensive one. It would give you a lot better performance.
