Windows Server 2003- Enterprise Version
IIS 6.0
I am added to the permissions for both the printers and
the IIS.
User: Adminitrator

Situation:
I am able to see shared printers by connecting to the
print server via http://ip_address/printers
Logon authentication pops up and after typing user ID
(Administrator) and the password, it goes through and
shared printers are displayed. When I try to connect to a
printer, it asks me if I want to install the driver for
the printer, I say yes.

Two problems:

1. It ignores the fact that the driver for the printer is
alreay installed, and attempts to download it form the
server. But I can live with that.

2. The main problem is when it prompts me again for
authentication, no matter what option I choose, a popup
window comes up and says that "I do not have permission to
access the printer. Choose another user name and password."

I do have permission, as I said above, with full control.

So, installation fails. Any help. please?

hhmm... doesnt sound like youre logged on to the domain to me... or if you
are your domain account doesnt have permission on the local machine to
install printer drivers.... if youre on the domain with a valid user account
you shouldnt be prompted for a password when viewing the printers webpage
(not with the default IIS config)... so look at that
