Can't get WEP working

I have a D-Link DCF-660W and a matching router from DLink. They work fine
EXCEPT if I try and enable WEP.

I set both ends to 64 bit Hex and the key to ABCD12345 but as soon as I
enable WEP in the DCF660W the signal strength meter falls to zero and the
connection is lost. Resetting the DCF-660W makes no difference. The only way
to get a link back it to turn off WEP.

The system also seems to take a long time to allocate an IP address to the
DCF-660W (20 seconds?) but once it's working everything is fast and I get
11M connection speed

Any ideas?

Shouldn't this be 5 sets of two hex characters, not 4 1/2 ?

CWatters,

You need 10 characters to make that work.
